STEM Scholarship

Our Scholarship Program provides assistance to deserving students who are interested to pursue Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) degree programs in college.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Graduating Senior High School student from public schools within Region VII with at least 90% general average for each of the grading periods of Grade 11 and 1st semester of Grade 12 and no grade per subject lower than 85%;
  • Participation in the Regional Science and Technology Fair (RSTF)–7 within the last 4 years up to the year  of application is a plus but not necessary;
  • With a total family household income of at most P300,000 per year;
  • No other existing scholarship grants;
  • No record of any form of disciplinary action; and
  • Must enroll in STEM-related Courses in our preferred schools.

Requirements

a.) For application

  • Duly accomplished online application form
  • Proof of Admission from any of the preferred schools
  • Report Cards for G11 and G12 (1st sem)
  • Latest Parent/Guardian’s Income Tax Return (for employed)/Certificate of Indigency (for unemployed)
  • PSA Birth Certificate; and
  • Certificate of Good Moral

Screening and Selection Process

  • Only complete applications submitted will be processed.
  • Applicants who passed the initial screening will proceed to online/face-to-face interview and will be notified through email.
  • Newly accepted scholars will sign a scholarship contract “see MOA template” to confirm their admission.

Terms and Conditions:

  • The scholarship grantee will enjoy the benefits on his/her first year until graduation from the same course.
  • Scholars are required to maintain at least 2.0/85% general weighted average and at least 2.5/80% per subject grade by the end of the term (semester/trimester) or set by their department cut-off grade.
  • A scholar shall be terminated from the scholarship of any of the following grounds:
      1. Failure to meet general weighted average of 85/2.0 per term and 80/2.5 per subject or set by their department cut-off grade.
      2. Failing, incomplete, or dropped grade in both academic and non-academic subjects.
      3. Transferring to another school
      4. Shifting to another course
      5. Violation of school policies during the availment of the grant
      6. Availment of another scholarship

For Academic Year (AY) 2024 – 2025:

  • Opening of Applications: April 1, 2024
  • Deadline of Applications: May 15, 2024

  1. Can I apply for the scholarship if I haven’t been accepted to any of the preferred schools mentioned?
    • No, you need to take the college entrance exam at any of the preferred schools before applying.
  2. My final grade for Grade 12 is not available yet. Can I still apply?
    • Yes, you can apply by providing your Grade 11 grades and the 1st semester Grade 12 grades.
  3. Can students from private Grade 12 senior high school apply for the scholarship?
    • No, only graduating Grade 12 students from public schools within region 7 are eligible.
  4. Can students in medical courses apply for the scholarship?
    • No, the scholarship is only available for specific courses such as Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, and Psychology.
  5. Can I apply if I plan to enroll in state universities?
    • No, the scholarship is exclusive to the following preferred schools: CIT-U, UC, USC, USJR, and USPF.
  6. Can I apply if I haven’t participated in RSTF?
    • Yes, but having RSTF participation is a plus.
  7. Can I apply if I’ve also applied for other scholarships?
    • Yes, you can apply while waiting for results from other grantors. However, if you get admitted to more than one scholarship, you will need to choose which one to retain.
  8. I took the college entrance exam at a preferred school, but the results are not yet available, and I’m worried about missing the application deadline. Can I still apply or provide proof of entrance college exam entry?
    • No, only applicants with proof of admission, having passed the college entrance exam, will be entertained.
  9. Can I submit lacking requirements after the application deadline?
    • No, we do not process incomplete requirements once the application period is over. Please ensure all documents are complete during the application period.
